The Ausländerrat Dresden condemns the war of aggression in Ukraine

We – the Ausländerrat Dresden e.V. – stand in solidarity with the people in Ukraine. We condemn the war of aggression launched by Vladimir Putin. It is a despicable violation of international humanitarian law. Peace, human rights and a democratic society – this is what the people, who are involved in our association in all their diversity and working for a successful coexistence in Dresden, stand for. Our thanks go to all those who work every day to alleviate the suffering of refugees. We call for the aggression of the Russian leadership not to be equated with the thoughts and actions of the people in Russia – including the Russian-speaking people who live in Germany and other parts of the world. Flight and displacement are not divisible. That is why all people in Ukraine should have the opportunity to flee. We oppose racism at the borders of Europe.

The services offered by the Ausländerrat Dresden are, of course, also available to all new arrivals. This applies in particular to the migration counselling and migration social work. We will provide answers to the most frequently asked questions by refugees and helpers on our Ukraine subpage within the coming days.

We have set up a subpage with information on how one can help people affected by the war locally or here in Dresden. You can reach this page here.
